April 26th -Marcie Comment
Hey Everybody!
Ashley Grandy met up with Court and some of the other elders a few weeks ago and was able to give him some treats that we sent to her. I sent some Girl Scout cookie Thin Mints... (the best!)She took a few pictures of all of the elders. I was shocked to see him. He has lost almost 70 pounds (which is like a 4th grader!) HA HA. I am so proud of him. He has had such a great attitude this whole time and is now LOVING the food and loves the Korean people. He says that he is still working on the language, but doesn't complain. This mission, I know has already changed his life for the better. Man... I love that kid! Keep those letters going out to him, I know every letter helps!
On behalf of Court... thanks for all your support.

I asked him if he has ever messed up some words while talking to someone. This is what he said.
Hey-sorry not much time but, i'll tell you a funny language screw up. one time i was teaching about the law of chastity and pornography, and in korea the word for to need is piriohada and the word to avoid is peehada and i wanted to say "when we obey the law of chastity we avoid porn." but i said " if we want to obey the law of chastity we need porn" whoops thats a pretty big difference.
gotta run love ya

hey-
what is up. you should see korea right now its sweet, the blossoms are crazy its just like mulan! Korean is coming along, i took a test today in my mission passoff program at the mission home. i passed. so thats good i guess. i wish i could just wake up one morning fluent at korean though. that would be fantastic. theres a say about people who come to places like korea "people who go stateside on there mission come back scriptorians, people going to south america or europe come back fluent in another language. people who come to places like korea just come back humble." nothing is more of a slap in the face than not being able to understand a 4 year old. haha. no but seriously korean is coming along but i will tell you that it is a lot harder than german or spanish. and if anyone tries to argue that fact with you, i will slap them in public when i get home. so make a list of people for me to slap.on a different note, my companion says i'm the most rediculous person he's ever known. I don't know why he would possibly think that. its like he thinks i'm weird. hmmmm....
well, gotta run

Hello Everyone!
how is everyone doing? im doing well here. i don't know what to write about to much these days every thing is pretty repetitive and probably boring to hear week after week. Last sunday we had a dinner at a members apartment and we took a family of four that we are teaching. that was fun, like half the ward was there too, there were a ton of people in one apartment. it was really fun. the family that lived at the apartment has 5 kids which is a huge family for korea and there youngest son is like three and he answered the door, but the thing is when he opened the door he shouted "surprise!" in english which was definately unexpected and more hilarious. the oldest child in that family is tias age and wants tia to email her sometime, i'll send the address next week.this week we were supposed to have a baptism but the girl decided not to get baptized yet, she said she will in like july or something when there is a break from school. School here is crazy, high school students sometimes go to school from like 8am-10pm its nuts. and they have school on saturdays half day and sometimes sunday depending on the school. so the girl that was going to get baptized is really busy right now.The weather here is really nice right now it feels alot similiar to hawaii for most the day, but in a week or so it'll be crazy hot. but the good news is we don't have to wear suit coats starting next monday. its really pretty here right now the cherry blossoms are nuts! and they have some other trees that have big flowers growing on them too. i'll send home some pictures soon probably.well happy easter and i'll talk to ya next week

April Fool's Day 2009 -to Marcie
I had told Court that I was pregnant again and made up a big story about it.
i am impressed you actually got me for a second i read the first line the said "what?" then i was like yesterday was april foolsday, she's lying and you confessed later to confirm it. if you didn't say april fools i would've believed you.
i didn't get transfered i'm still with elder hutchings, which is tight, we had alot of fun last transfer and i love the area we are in. there are a ton of people in are word a alot of little kids, outside of my nieces and i'd say korean little kids are the cutest little kids ever, no joke they are rediculously adorable. there is a girl thats like six and her name is sarang which means love, and shes so cute. and alot of the kids will bow really low to the people my age and older its so funny. and they only know how to speak low form korean and its so cute. i will adopt a korean when i'm older. i don't care what my wife says. freak she won't care cause she'll probably be korean. haha.... but seriously. what would you think if i married an asian? she'd have to be okay at english i couldn't do that to mom, marry someone that she can't communicate with. that would be mean. but i'd go into business here in korea and learn japanese and be a international business man, and work for samsung or lg or something. it'd be tight.
i got a new suit last week and some korean style white shirts. i look so much better my comp said my old suit made me look like a peanut. i got 5 white shirts that would be like $55 each in america, a nice suit that would be about $500 in america and a nice belt that'd be like $40 in america for a grand total of 180,000won, which is less than $180 because of the exchange rate cool huh? well i gotta write other people

hello-
hows it going, thank you for the package, the shoes are great and so are the treats.not a whole lot going on right now in my life. the same old thing. i haven't eaten anything outta control lately, we eat alot of rice here, and alot of kimchi(which is now one of my favorite foods) recently ive eaten a lot of kimbab its rice with stuff in the middle wrapped in seaweed, it looks alot like sushi. i've attached a picture of some. we have a baptism set for the 12th of april, at night after general conference. umm... transfers are next week, i might be leaving to a new area. i hope you watched the world baseball classic, korea was against japan in the final game, which is a big deal because korea and japan aren't the best of friends. sadly korea lost. the language is coming on and stuff like that. today we went to the temple. i'm sorry my emails are probably boring i just don't know what to say. oh... the weather was really cold the past few days but now it should be hot. thats good. well i gotta go

hey everyone-
how's it going?i'm still in korea... so i had a crazy realization today... it was exactly one year ago today that i got my mission call. Thats soooo weird. time goes so fast, or as they say in korea, saywori yusu katda, or time is like a flowing river in english. its an old saying from china. this last week was good. the theme park was sweet, no disneyland but still really fun. i rode the biggest rollercoaster in all of asia and possibly the world. it was huge, it was so fun. it was a good day and the park was empty. we picked up a chinese investigator last week he's really cool, he showed us pictures of his hometown in china, its really pretty, after living in asia i've decided that i want to travel to places like china. asia is really fun place to be. especially since all the people here just stare at foreigners for days and its fun to mess with them. especially if you know there language. i can't tell you how many times a day little korean kids see us and yell foreigner in korean not realizing we understand him. so then you turn around and ask him where the foreigner is and act confused, and tell him you are a korean person. its so funny they never ever understand whats happening its one of my favorite games.
Last Sunday we set a baptismal date for one of our investigators thats tias age, so hopefully i don't get transfered on the 2nd of april cause then i'll miss her baptism. other than that not very much is going on out of the ordinary. except for the fact that i'm getting weird, i'm becoming korean, and i feel really weird using forks and wearing shoes in the house. and i just weighed myself and i weigh 217. iwas like 285 when i left. weird.
well talk to yall next week
